How is my offspring so pretentious?

Lately I've been fanning out on Owen Pallet (AKA Final Fantasy). With some help I've found some new songs here and here. The later of the two a recording from a CBC session featuring Cadence Weapon.
You reallly should check out Department of Eagles. Department of Eagles is Dan Rossen's (of Grizzly Bear) other band that he is involved with. They claim to be "America's favorite semi-active band".

I'm sad that concert season is over :(

Here they come now, I can see them in the evening light. Her brown hair partially hidden beneath a red cap. His brown leather jacket. Everything about them is this season. They walk quickly, not to avoid my stares, but in reaction to the crisp autumn air. Although I can’t make out what he says, I can tell by the tone of his voice that he suggests something to here. Her response consists only of a giggle and a nod. Up their front steps and inside.
Door closes and they are inside.
Front hall lights on.

The windows begin to light up one by one in a chain reaction. Warmth is radiating from the windows, but my skin doesn’t feel it. Through the kitchen window: flour, eggs, butter, milk. This goat can sleep safe at night knowing that he is not threatend by the lating american "Chupacabra" (literal translation: goat sucker!!). But he does have to worry about the local vandels that spray apint "eat meat" just outside of his cage.
Everyone should consume goat dairy product rather than cow dairy products. Goats are way better for the area in which they graze in. the are way more efficient than cows. They dont selectivly eat, they eat everything, so they require less area. Their shit is better fertalizer. they are much more agile so the area in which they graze needs much less preperation. Their milk turns a 10 pound baby into a hundred pound adult; cows milk turns a hundred pound baby into a 800 pound adult, which do you think is better for you?

Asleep

I've had a cold since Thursday, it fucking sucks.
But I did get to see Regina Spektor Thursday so its not all bad. She got all fantastic during the encore and sang Hotel Song while Only Son beatboxed the accompanying music.

Lately I have been listenign to music that would send the average listener straight into sleepy time, but not me, I'm used to it (I could have been extra "emo" and say something like I'm already asleep). See Owen Pallett, some Smiths, Regina Spektor, Bright Eyes etc.


Theres an article in the Imprint (the UW newspaper) this week on the lack of skateboarders at the school, hmmmmmm. maybe its becasue most skateboarders are smart and avoid UW at all costs.

Thankful for climate change (not really, but sometimes it's nice)

Much to be thankful for this weekend; namely Value Village (heart record, Flannel, and necklace), but also the turkey that gave it's life for me.

While on the topic of killing Turkeys; last night I drempt I killed three birds. A Quail, a Turkey Vulture and another bird that i forget the species of. I killed the Quail in the library and poached the Turkey Vulture while hovering hundreds of meters in the sky.

Monday we went to rambo so Andy could do a couple tricks and 3 people could document it.


Nature Vs. Kitchen floor

Monday morning I found this Dragon fly on my kitchen floor, I brought it outside and the sun quickly warmed it up to the point that i could fly away. Dragonflies can unhinge their jaw so it just dangles open and then they fly around catching mosquitos and other small flying insects. Like most insects, dragonflies start off in a larvee form, in this case they are called nymphs and live their larvee life underwater.

Incase you didn't already know, Beirut is amazing. So is Alaska in Winter.
Both their performances exceeded my expectations (even though I didnt really have expectations for Alaska in Winter). Owen Pallet's (Final Fantasy) appearance was, of course, a pump-up. He seemed kind of shy being up there without his violin. Zach Condon is so talented, despite being only 21. I wish I was talented. The danforth music hall is "a facist venue", but the audience was able to over come facism at this particular show and storm the stage (in a non-violent way) and dance along side Beirut.

Hopefully this will be a regular post.
This is a Morning Glory flower. They are a vine that flowers in the late summer. Each flower opens for only one day, then dies (therefore not having to worry about scary things like the night). Nik asked: "don't they get you really high?" I think just the seeds do if you eat them or smoke them, I dont think looking at the flower or smelling it gets you high. This particular plantrefused to flower until late september, while its brother, only 15 meters away started in august.
